A common question couples ask is, “How much wine do we actually need?”
The answer depends on your guest numbers, the length of your celebration and the style of your meal.
Based on there being 'Welcome Drinks' of fizz, a typical wedding meal with a party reception afterwards of dancing and merriment, you might find this matrix helpful...also remember to factor in champagne towers and that you may be having a more relaxed Pool Party the following day!
| Modest Partakers No.of Bottles /head | The Average Wedding No.of Bottles | Party Crowd No.of Bottles |
|---|---|---|---|
Wine (combination of red, white or rosé) |
0.75 |
1.5 |
2 |
Fizz
|
0.5 |
0.75-1 |
1 to 1.5 |
This also takes into consideration that there are always some guests that don’t drink!
The mix of red, white & rosé is also key. We can help you get the mix just right
As a general guide, a standard bottle provides around six glasses.
Sparkling wine for receptions, rose, white and/or red for the meal, and perhaps something special for toasts all need to be factored in.
Careful calculation ensures you have plenty for everyone to enjoy, throughout your celebration. With thoughtful planning, it’s easy to strike the right balance.
We always leave a Buffer Stock too so that you don’t run out on your special day!!
